Planes
Fly with British Airways (www.ba.com) or EasyJet (www.easyjet.com) to Palma de Mallorca Airport (also known as Son Sant Joan), half an hour away by car. Hire a car at the airport and enjoy the panoramic views along Mallorca’s rugged coastline as you drive to the hotel.

The nearest railway is the beautifully restored Sóller line, a vintage steam train through mountains and orange tree groves en route to Palma. The journey takes around an hour, and a return ticket will cost €11 or so.
Automobiles
A car is recommended for seeking out the best beaches and restaurants on the island, and for venturing further afield (it takes 25 minutes to drive to the nearest large city, Palma). You’ll be able to hire a car at the airport, and parking is available at the hotel.
Other
Take the ferry from Port de Sóller to Sa Calobra, one of Mallorca’s most spectacular natural attractions.
Worth getting out of bed for
The nearest beach is Port of Soller, a 10-minutes'drive away. For a little more action, hike down to the romantic town of Deia or bustling Soller. Fornalutx, near Soller, is another attractive option, voted ‘most beautiful town in Spain’ for a few years on the trot.
Local restaurants
Renowned for its Spanish/Mediterranean cuisine, Bens D’Avall on Carretera Soller-Deia is just a short drive up the coast; ask for a cliffside table. Xelini in Deia is a more traditional tapas restaurant with live music on Saturdays. El Olivo (+34 971 63 90 11) at La Residençia in Deia offers fine dining in a romantic setting under the olive trees; it's a good chance to show off your dressier threads, as no shorts allowed are allowed in this posh hotel. Perched on a rock overlooking the beach at Cala Deia, C'as Patro March is a great place for a lunch of delicious gambas pil-pil (prawns with garlic). It gets very busy during high season so book ahead (+34 971 63 91 37).
