These 20sq m rooms are on the ground floor, leading off from the hotel's main terrace. You’ll have your own terrace, from which to watch the comings and goings by the pool so they may be visible to other guests, with views of the Aegean sea and the volcano. There’s an open-plan living room and a double bedroom (some rooms have beds in a loft alcove) with an ensuite walk-in shower. Rooms include a bottle of Santorini wine, flatscreen TV, CD/DVD player, minibar and free WiFi.

Classic Junior Suite

These 25sq m suites offset crisp white walls with rainbow-coloured tiles and bold-hued furnishings. Suites have an open-plan living area, a double bedroom and an ensuite with a shower. The ground-floor suites have terraces with sweeping views of the caldera, from which to watch the comings and goings by the pool, so they may be visible to other guests. Suites include a bottle of Santorini wine, flatscreen TV, CD/DVD player, minibar and free WiFi.

Most of these 25–40sq m suites are on Astra’s higher floors, offering more privacy and great views of the volcano and sunsets over the sea from their private balcony or terrace, and offering a bit more privacy than lower category rooms. The white-walled living room and bedroom with a queen-size bed both have plenty of space (some can accommodate a third guest on a built-in single sofa bed in the living room for €100 a night). There’s a bathroom with a shower, too. Some of the suites are open-plan; all include a bottle of Santorini wine, flatscreen TV, CD/DVD player, minibar and free WiFi.

Premier Junior Suite

These 40sq m groundfloor suites are near the hotel’s pool and have crisp white walls and bold-hued furnishings. Each has a private sunset-facing terrace that looks out over the caldera and Aegean sea, though they may be visible to other guests. Inside, there’s a built-in single sofa bed where one extra guest can sleep (for €100 per night). There’s a double-bed either in the open-plan living area or upstairs, in a loft bedroom; each suite also has a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Suites include a bottle of Santorini wine, flatscreen TV, minibar and free WiFi. Guests should note that terraces can be seen from the pool area.

Superior Suite Jetted Tub

These 70sqm suites have white walls with brightly coloured furnishings, and local artwork hung on the walls. Spread over different levels of the hotel, each suite has a large private balcony with sunloungers and a jetted tub overlooking the Aegean Sea and the volcano. There’s a spacious open-plan living area, a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a shower (some showers are in the bedroom). Each of these 65sq m suites has a large private veranda with an infinity pool (heated only during low and middle seasons) and sunset-facing views of the caldera and Aegean sea. Astra Suite with Open Air Jetted Tub

The heated jetted tub on the panorama-endowed veranda is this 70sq m suite’s crowning glory, overlooking the Aegean sea and the volcano; however, the spacious, colourfully decorated bedroom with a king-size bed, and the bathroom with shower and dressing area are pretty impressive too. Among Astra’s most private hideaways, the Astra Suites with Open Air Jetted Tub are situated on various levels and have open-plan living areas (some can accommodate a third guest on a built-in sofa bed in the living room for €100 a night) lined with local art. Astra Pool Suite

These 55sq m suites all have huge private verandas with their own heated pools (these are heated in low and middle season only), so you can swim in sight of Santorini’s spectacular Aegean sea, volcano and riotously hued sunsets. The Astra Private Villa

Set 500m from the main Astra Suites hotel, in a private corner of Imerovigli village, this private villa has a private swimming pool (heated during low and middle seasons), outdoor hot tub, and panoramic caldera views from both its indoor and outdoor living and dining areas. Inside, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen, dining and lounge space, two bedrooms with king-size beds (one can be fitted with twins, on request) and ensuite bathrooms, and a third guest bathroom.
