"Being able to view art with the added layers and insights an Insider like Edy offers makes a gallery visit so much more rewarding and personal. The chance to discuss works and view them with more depth was rewarding and I got fresh perspectives along the way. Really enjoyable."

Where you'll go
Hidden in Hyde Park, just five minutes apart, are two of London’s best-loved and respected galleries, both packed with works by challenging and diverse artists past and present, from across the globe (Grayson Perry, Tania Bruguera, Christo and Jean-Claude…) Edy will regale you with tales as you tour the Serpentine (a converted 1970s tea pavilion) and former gunpowder store the Serpentine Sackler (revamped by Zaha Hadid Architects in 2013). And, in season, you’ll see sculptural outdoor works and the Serpentine’s famed annual pavilion.
What you'll learn
What is contemporary art? With Edy at the helm you’ll see things from an artist’s point of view: the frustrations of funding and censorship, the fame and glory, the people behind the artist myth and what drives them. And with the Serpentines’ shows as a backdrop, she’ll outline the technical know-how involved – eye-opening insight for those who’ve ever said ‘I could do that’. Then, after exiting through the gift shop, you’ll take tea (and more) by the Serpentine’s scenic boating lake.
