You’ll begin your food-focused experience in the gezellige side streets of De Pijp. You’ll start at Indonesian eatery Toko Ramee, try spiced layer cake and learn about the culinary legacy of post-colonial immigration to Amsterdam. You’ll visit a Netherlands-based fast-food chain with a long local history and hear about the neighbourhood’s culture on your way to a fishmonger. You’ll visit a global food store specialising in Surinamese cuisine, indulge in carb-laden goodness at a traditional Jewish bakery, swing by street-food stalls and visit a traditional brown café.

During your De Pijp experience, you’ll savour traditional Dutch dishes, Indonesian treats and Surinamese street food. You’ll sample Indonesian pasties, spekkoek layer cake, made-in-front-of-you croquettes, fresh local herring and eel, coffee and prettily plaited babka, the local favourite stroopwafel (still warm and melting in your hands) and aged cheeses.
