Where you'll go
You’ll meet near Broadway and Canal and wind your way towards neon-lit Mott Street, past restaurants gearing up for the day, to star of the silver screen Pell Street (the former home of Chinatown’s first legal opium den). Follow Greg to Doyers Street while learning about the neighbourhood’s historic gangs, the seedier side of the city and its legendary restaurants. You’ll snap photos of the Wing Fat Mansion, Confucius Plaza and buzzing morning markets, before making your final stop at a bakery, where you’ll enjoy a sweet treat and a chat.
What you'll snap
Neon lights, market stalls and colourful murals are just a few of the photogenic subjects you’ll capture on this street-photography experience. All levels of photographer are welcome, but this experience is best for enthusiasts who are already well acquainted with their cameras. You’ll find out how to set the stage for a street scene, which angles work best and how to create dramatic long-exposure shots. You’ll also learn about the history of the neighbourhood and wrap up with some pointers on photo editing (and an order of sponge cake).
Experience location
You will be meeting Greg Brophy bright and early near Canal Street Station; we’ll send you the details in your confirmation.
