Where you'll go
You’ll start at the refurbished Monnaie de Paris, which serves as both a working mint and a modern art gallery; once you’ve explored the interior exhibits, there’s even a sculpture-dotted inner courtyard. Next, you’ll stroll along the river to the Institut de France, before entering the heart of Saint-Germain’s gallery quarter. You’ll end the experience by visiting a handful of independent galleries – art consultant Caroline will choose the exact stops based on the current exhibits and your preferences.
What you'll see
You’ll discuss the artists’ techniques, materials used and your emotional responses to the works you see. You’ll immerse yourself in the history of the Institut de France and its role in the arts, then tour the campus of l'École Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts – the city’s most prestigious art school for students – and dip into the modern art galleries of Saint-Germain. Take the tour again a few months later and you’ll see completely different works, thanks to the rotating nature of modern-art exhibits.
Experience location
You will be meeting Caroline Etter at a café on Rue Guénégaud; we’ll send you the details in your confirmation.
