Boutique boat captains

Entrepreneurial couple James and Geertje saw a gap in the market for luxurious, sustainable and stylish canal tours of Amsterdam. Every guide on their small team is either an Amsterdam local or a long-term expat who can provide fun and knowledgeable commentary on the city’s historic sights and monuments, and tailor the route to your interests. As well as using electric boats, the zero-waste company works with Amsterdam artisans to stock local snacks and beers aboard.

Glide under beautiful bridges and past iconic city sights on this relaxing canal cruise, complete with an open bar and delicious snacks.

Where you'll go
From a restored vintage riverboat, you’ll see many of the classic sights of Amsterdam on this tailored tour through the quaint canals: the famous seven bridges over picturesque Reguliersgracht, Magere Brug (known as the lovers’ bridge), the Anne Frank house and the Westerkerk church where Rembrandt is buried. You’ll continue up the Amstel past the Dutch National Opera, the Red Light District (families can opt to miss this bit) and Amsterdam’s oldest building, De Oude Kerk, before finishing back at the start point.
What you'll sample
The fleet of beautiful old riverboats are electrically powered and equipped with comfortable sofas, a pop-up canopy in case it rains and lots of cosy blankets to combat the chill. You won’t go hungry or thirsty – the bar includes unlimited local craft beers and wine, plus a cheese and charcuterie board for every passenger. As you relax and take in the scenery, the entertaining and informative captains will share stories, facts and anecdotes about the city’s watery history and its golden-age architecture.
Experience location
The usual meeting point is Keizersgracht 102. For evening cruises during the Amsterdam Light Festival (28 November to 19 January), you’ll be casting off from Herengracht 468. We’ll send you the full details in your confirmation.
