When to go

March through to May is a good time to catch the not too warm, not too cold weather and the Falls at their most powerful.

Getting there

• Planes

  Victoria Falls International Airport is just a 20-minute drive from the reserve; most flights stop over in Johannesburg or Addis Ababa and transfers to and from the hotel are free. Or fly into Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (formerly Livingstone Airport), a 45-minute drive away.

• Automobiles

  Lodges usually chauffeur guests in and around the reserve, so you can largely rely on your assigned driver. But, if you’d like to go it alone, you can pick up wheels at either of the two airports. Roads are largely well-maintained, but bring documentation in case you encounter any roadblocks.
