When to go

Trentino’s diverse landscape means varied weather year-round. Autumn brings a romantic golden hue to the hills, winter is crisp and snowy, and spring brings hordes of wild-flowers to the valleys. High season is during the summer, between June and August.

Getting there

  • Planes

    The closest airport to Trentino is Verona Villafranca International Airport, around an hour’s drive from Trento city. Daily British Airways, Alitalia and Lufthansa flights arrive direct from major Italian and European cities.
  • Trains

    From Verona airport, a shuttle-bus runs to Verona Porta Nuova train station. From here, Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com) runs a service to the city of Trento with a journey time of around 40 minutes.
  • Automobiles

    Trentino is easily navigated by car, and road conditions are good. However, between the 15th of November to the 15th of April, all cars must have snow-tyres or carry snow-chains.
