When to go

The summer months are warm enough for a pleasant bit of hiking – temperatures hover around 15C – but expect to see a fair bit of rain. Visit between mid-December and late March to make the most of the powdery slopes.

Getting there

  Zürich is the closest major airport; call our Smith24 team and they’ll help arrange flights.

• Trains

  It’s a two-part journey from Zürich to Chur; but the two hour and forty minute train ride is a scenic route, winding from the shores of Lake Zürich past medieval buildings and into the pine-covered mountains.

• Automobiles

  If you’re visiting in warmer months (or comfortable driving on snow tires), you can hire a car in Zürich; the drive will take just over two hours.
