Beach bums will do well to visit during the summer months when lounger life is in full swing along the coastline’s many beaches.
Getting there
Planes
The closest international hub is Brindisi Airport, 50 minutes away. Flights arrive here from Europe and the UK, though flights into Bari Airport tend to be more frequent. There’s no direct public transport to Nardò from either, so arrange a transfer or book a taxi in advance.
Automobiles
Nardò is compact and easily walkable, but if you plan on exploring the rest of the peninsula, a car is recommended. Driving in these parts is pretty straightforward, just remember to park up outside any historical centre, inside which narrow roads are common and parking spots are few and far between.
