Luxury holidays in Marais

When to go

There’s no bad time to see the City of Lights, although some businesses close in August, when the locals like to take their holidays.

Getting there

  • Planes

Most international flights touch down at Charles de Gaulle Airport, and regional flights land at Paris Orly. It’s around an hour-long taxi ride to the Marais from Orly, and an hour or more from Charles de Gaulle, but buses and trains run regularly from both airports to the city centre for a fraction of the cost.
  • Trains

If you’re coming from London, skip the airports and arrive via Eurostar.
  • Automobiles

Leave the roads to the residents – a trip free of pricey parking and the infamous Périphérique ring road will be much more romantic.
