When to go

Make the most of Te Arai’s beaches in the warmer months that bookend the year – summer runs from December to February. June to August is on the cooler side and might be a little soggy.

    International and domestic flights touch down in Auckland (60 miles from Te Arai). From there, hire a car and hit the road.
  • Automobiles

    The secluded shores of Te Arai are an hour and 15 minutes by car from Auckland. Opt for a 4x4 if you’re driving to your beach adventure, as much of Te Arai Point Road is gravel.
