When to go

The summers are balmy and humid at around 25 to 30 degrees – the perfect weather for a day at the races at the Saratoga Race Course or exploring the forest-clad mountains.     Albany Airport is a swift 40-minute drive away and is served by most cities in the US.     Saratoga Springs station is a mid-line stop on Amtrak’s ‘Adirondack’ service between New York City and Montreal: it’s about a five-hour journey to either city.

    Your own set of wheels is needed to properly explore the surrounding countryside. Saratoga Springs sits on Route 87 and is easily reachable from most nearby cities; Albany is 40 minutes away, and New York, Boston and Montreal are all roughly three hours away by car.
