When to go

Visit the city between May and October: in spring, Hamburg looks beautiful in full bloom. Temperatures rarely rise much above a comfortable 20 degrees in the summer months, but can dip below freezing in winter and snow is common. Arrive during December’s Christmas markets and a flask of glühwein and the sparkling Christmas lights will keep you warm.
