When to go

June to September is when the weather is best. You don’t really have to worry about height-of-summer crowds, either: so far, Šibenik is off-the-beaten tourist track and remains far less busy than its coastal counterparts like Hvar or Split.

Getting there

  • Planes

Fly into Split Airport – British Airways flies daily from Heathrow, while Easyjet have direct flights from Luton, Gatwick and Glasgow. The airport is 50 minutes by car from town.
  • Boats

If you’re yachting up and down the Dalmatian Coast, book a spot to sail into at a local marina. There’s also a water taxi service in Šibenik so you can hop around the surrounding islands.
  • Trains

A car will give you the freedom to explore countless fishing villages and idyllic islands up and down the Dalmatian Coast.
