Luxury holidays in San Bernardino County

When to go

San Bernardino’s dry, savannah climes make it a year-round getaway. While heliophiles will find solace in the County’s sun-drenched summers, classic car lovers will revel in the Route 66 Rendezvous which takes place every October. The winter months have their advantages, too; the region’s high desert plains are among the world's best spots for star-gazing spectacles.

Getting there

  • Planes

The nearest international hub is Ontario International Airport. Flights arrive here from all over the USA, Central America and Asia. For those flying from the UK and Europe, fly direct to Los Angeles’ LAX. From here it’s a two-hour car journey to the heart of San Bernardino County.
  • Automobiles

The allure of the open road beckons in this vast Californian terrain. If route 66 isn’t enough to tempt you into the driving seat, there’s a number of off-road trails and scenic mountain routes to get stuck into. For these more challenging jaunts, however, you’ll want to hire a 4x4 to navigate dirt roads and gravel paths with ease.
