    Grândola is the closest station serving the region, a 30-minute drive away; trains arrive here direct from Lisbon’s Entrecampos station in just over an hour.

    Melides most charming bits are to be found far away from each other; this remote robustness is the bulk of its appeal, but it does mean you’ll need to hire a car.
