Our sustainability efforts
Working together to secure a brighter future for our most precious habitats
We're B Corp-certified
The travel club for hotel lovers is – we're very proud to say – a certified B Corporation. Certified 'B Corps' are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, which are then reassessed every three years. It means we strive to shine a light on those making pioneering efforts in environmentally conscious hospitality, and we'll continue to support our inspirational conservation partners. And there's plenty more to come…
Our goals and commitments
1) Offset all travel by our staff, reviewers and any other content-creating friends, with donations split between the World Land Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation
2) Update and expand environmental and community credentials for all hotels
3) Allow members to contribute directly to our sustainability partners
4) We’ve scrapped plastic use in our gift cards and member mailouts, and plans are in place to redesign our membership cards
5) Foster relationships between hotels and our conservation charities
Grounds for hope
The World Land Trust was founded in 1989 to protect natural ecosystems across the world. Its ‘Buy An Acre’ project was set up in the face of rampant habitat loss and has so far secured more than 2.4 million acres of threatened territory and funded 82 reserves.
A sea change
The Foundation’s aim is to ensure the protection of at least 30 per cent of the world’s oceans by 2030. Its pioneering work has already succeeded in creating two of the world’s largest marine reserves and the largest fully protected marine reserve in the Atlantic.
