Combined with the sea-view hilltop location and melt-into-the-horizon infinity pool, Villa Orpheus feels as though it is your own private fantasyland floating in the sky. Floor plan

  • Azure waters and cerulean sky are the striking blue backdrop to this wonderful all-white villa.
  • Bedrooms

Billowing muslins and mosquito nets and snow-white linens enhance the ethereality of Orpheus's bedrooms. All the rooms are either fitted with air-conditioning or fans, but they feel naturally cooled by the sea breezes and thick walls and rather wonderfully at night there’s rarely a need to have it on. The rooms best suited to children are downstairs, and they have their own play area; the two main master bedrooms feel quite separate either next door with its own entrance or upstairs next to the dining room.

  • Kitchen Upstairs, the kitchen is fitted to a professional-standard with all the fittings and equipment you could need or want. That said, there’s also a restaurant-standard chef on hand should you want to spend as little time in it as possible. Downstairs there is a more low-key kitchen with a dining space perfect for feeding little ones in. One of the bedrooms, the more separate suite, has its own kitchenette too. And the outdoor bar doubles as an alfresco kitchen too so you can also throw together casual meals here as you mingle too.
  • Living room There are two reception areas, and as with everywhere in the villa, the sitting room is all-white and utterly chic. Cool by day, cosy by night, artworks play tug of war with that glorious sea view.
  • Dining room The elegant upstairs dining area off the main sitting room enjoys glorious sea views. There is also a covered outdoor dining area.
  • Poolside The spring-water rim-flow 22m x 9m pool infinity pool is the stuff that photographic dreams are made of. Ramping up its sex appeal is the fixed in-water doubled lounger that means guests can feel as though they are floating without any risk of falling in. It has a 1.2m shallow end and a 3.2m deep end.
  • Gardens The outdoor space is mostly terracing, which makes it a fabulous suntrap all day long.
  • Private parking There is parking for a number of cars in the gravel driveway.

Or just specify your favourite ingredients and see what the culinary whiz whips up for you. (A complimentary chef-cooked lunch or dinner is included in the rates when guests stay seven nights or more; you'll just have to cover the cost of alcohol and groceries.) Tea and coffee is always available and is on the house. The villa also has a fully stocked bar with all the accoutrements for you to live out your wildest cocktail-concocting fantasies. Housekeeping

Six hours a day six hours a week, this rental property is fully staffed most of the time, but should you want additional housekeeping this is available at €20/hour. A full laundry service is possible; the charge is €20 per 7kg.

Entertainment

There are a number of huge flatscreen TVs in the villa, and a nighclub-standard sound system which extends to the terrace. A number of DVD players and DVDs are available to borrow. There is free WiFi – when it works. High-speed broadband is temperamental on the island so you may occasionally find yourself hurtling down the information superhighway one minute and merely a roadside pedestrian the next. Why not log-off instead and enjoy the beauty and massage services which can be pre-booked, from shiatsu to rebirthing breathing therapies.
