Getting there

• Planes The nearest airports are Southampton and London Heathrow.
• Trains Trains from Waterloo come into Tisbury, which is a ten-minute drive from the property.

• Automobiles From London: follow the A316 to the M3. Follow signs to M4 and head west. Join the M25 at junction 15 and head south until you get to junction 12; head south on the M3 in the direction of Southampton. Drive approx 30 mins and come off at junction 8 for the A303. Stay on this for about 45mins. Turn off right for the A350; after passing through Chicklade (look for a petrol station, a Little Chef and then a sharp uphill dual carriageway with a speed camera). Follow signs for Blandford Forum/Shaftesbury. Drive south on A350 for approx 5 miles and turn left for Semley. Several brown signs with 'Village inn and pub' precede the turn-off. Continue on this country road under a railway bridge until you reach Semley Common: the Bennett Arms Inn/Pub will be on your left. Follow the road to the right, drive around the pond and keep going straight and then gently up the hill (church on your left). As you head up the hill take the first left (it’s almost a fork in the road). Follow uphill until you reach Gutch Common (at the top of the hill where the road narrows, cottages on either side). Take your immediate, first left and follow the road downhill (stay left and ignore road going off on your right). As you head into the woods, Rose Cottage is on your immediate left after the bend.
