- Booking process Smith deposit taken when you book. A 50 per cent deposit is required on bookings made more than four weeks before rental, with full payment 21 days prior to arrival. Any bookings taken after the four-week deadline are to be paid in full. A £750 damage deposit is required one week before arrival (funds need to be cleared) and will be refunded in full no later than 14 days after departure if no damage or loss is recorded (terms and conditions apply).

Bedrooms
There are three bedrooms in main house, two on the ground floor (which share a bathroom) and a master bedroom on the first floor. All have hanging space and drawers and there are two separate high-spec bathrooms (none are ensuite as such). The fourth bedroom is in the garden house which has its own separate shower room and heating and hot-water system, as well as very sexy alfresco shower.

Kitchen
This is part of the open-plan living room and equipped with high-quality Miele appliances, Lacanche cooker, Nespresso coffee machine and large prep area. A separate pantry stocks cooking essentials and houses washer/dryer. -
Living room
The huge open-plan living space accommodates kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Two double doors lead to terrace and garden with glorious views over that Wiltshire/Dorset valley. -
Dining room
This is incorporated in the living space and includes a table that seats eight. -
Gardens
Rose Cottage is not only set amid woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but it has its own 1.5 acres of designed gardens which are rendered even more soul-stirring thanks to views over the valley and a country manor. -

Eating and drinking
Smith members receive hamper on arrival and the pantry is stocked with cooking essentials. A classic Webber grill can be stoked on the back porch and sustainable charcoal is provided (but no chemical firestarters, so gen up on your fire-making skills). Turnbulls Deli in Shaftesbury can provide catering.
Housekeeping
The house can be cleaned halfway through a week's stay for an extra £40.
Entertainment
There is free WiFi throughout the house but not in the garden house; there's a Denon hifi system, DVD and Wii. Lo-fi fun includes table tennis, a dart board, boules and badminton.
