Activities
Mesmear has its own family of chickens, and guests are welcome to feed them each morning and collect the eggs for breakfast (this is really popular with children). There is also a games room with table tennis, table football and air hockey. The sandy beaches that surround Mesmear (the closest is one mile away) keep children of all ages entertained; building sand castles, paddling and looking for fish in the rock pools, crabbing and damming streams for the younger guests. For the older children, there is body boarding, surfing, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, coasteering, paddle boarding, sailing, water skiing and power boat tours. Away from the beaches the Camel Trail is a great cycle track along the estuary suitable for all ages (hire bikes with tag-a longs, baby seats, tandems or kids bikes). Other activities within half an hour of Mesmear are: the Bird of Prey Centre, Crealy Adventure Park, Carruan Farm Experience, Go Karting and, a steam railway. The Eden project, an hour away, is great for all ages; the National Maritime Museum is suited for children of six and above.
