Part psychedelic Wild West-style hacienda, part baronial hunting lodge, this Norfolk hideaway is the perfect combination of ultimate party house and tranquil rural seclusion. The eight individually decorated bedrooms offer such unbridled quirkiness as floral wallpaper, chintzy curtains, birch branch beds and riding saddles; there’s even a ‘bunk house’ room with four adult-sized beds. It's ideal for a quiet weekend away with 17 of your nearest and dearest hedonistic friends and relations.

  • Booking process 20 per cent deposit needed to secure booking. A sum of £1,000 will be held on account by the hotel from seven days prior to your agreed date of arrival. The same sum of £1,000 is to be released by them on satisfactory completion of the checking of the inventory following your stay. Smith deposit taken when you book.
  • Also Smoking is allowed, although guests are requested to refrain in the bedrooms. Pets are welcome – there’s plenty of open countryside surrounding the property. You can occasionally hear take-offs from the airbase during the week.

Floor plan

  • Cliff Barns is arranged around a central courtyard which creates a spacious yet intimate atmosphere

  • Bedrooms

    Five double rooms and two twin/double rooms. One twin room has an adjoining bunk room which can sleep four children or adults. Two rooms share a bathroom. For extra accommodation there are also two camp beds, and teepees can be pitched on the lawns in summer. There is no limit on the number of guests at Cliff Barns. Bedroom 1: Double bed with freestanding roll-top bath in the room. Bedroom 2: Baronial style twin/double room which shares a separate bathroom with room 3. Bedroom 3: Psychedelic 1970s-style double room with separate shared bathroom. Bedroom 4: Double room decorated with saddles and denim, and with its own wet room. Bedrooms 5 and 6: Room five is a twin/double room with an adjoining adult-sized four-bunk room sharing a wet room with a giant plunge bath. Bedroom 7: This double room is the largest and has a bed made from tree branches, as well as an en suite wet room. Bedroom 8: This double room with silver birch bed and en suite bathroom is located in the opposite wing to the other rooms.

  • Kitchen

    The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, caterers’ fridge, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Basic herbs and spices are also provided. Cliff Barns is sometimes able to supply specific local produce but cannot pre-stock the fridge.

  • Living room

    TV, DVD, CD player and a large selection of board games. The centrepiece of the room is a large stone fireplace, and there are wagon-wheel chandeliers and doors out onto the courtyard.

  • Dining room

    As well as a table that seats 18, there is a lounge area with leather sofas and a large wood fire.

  • Poolside

    There's a hot tub in the courtyard.
  • Gardens

    Cliff Barns is arranged around a central and enclosed Spanish courtyard garden with a fountain, hot tub and sauna. There is a ping pong table, a giant chess board and two large patio areas with sunloungers and a barbecue. The house is surrounded by lawns.
  • Private parking

    There is private parking next to the house with enough space for up to 50 cars.

Eating and drinking

Up to 18 can be seated at the dining table next to the separate drinks fridge. The house is self-catering but Cliff Barns can arrange anything, including banquets for up to 30 people, or buffets for up to 120. There’s a barbecue in the courtyard. A chef and waiting staff can be arranged, and Cliff Barns can provide catering for any event; banquets can be arranged for up to 30 people, or buffets for up to 50. The ‘Groaning table’ menu is ideal for cold buffets or picnics and costs from £10.50 a head. Prices for the barbecue and three course Rancho Deluxe menus range up to £38 per person, including a chef and waiting staff. Whenever possible, organic local produce is used. Additional marquees, teepees and yurts mean that up to 150 people can be catered for.

Housekeeping

Daily housekeeping can be provided on request (a change of bed linen, towels and cleaning) charged at £25 a room.

Entertainment

There's a CD player in the living room with an iPod docking station. A wide range of entertainment can be organised and popular activities include a bucking bronco, casino, live music, themed parties, beauty treatments and massage. All sorts of activities can be arranged on- and off-site, too: cycling, mountain biking, go-karting, seal watching, microlite flying, paintballing, yachting, sailing, canoeing, fishing, water skiing, badminton, squash, clay-pigeon shooting, aerobics, game shooting, martial arts, five-a-side football, deer stalking, archery, fruit picking, ‘Go Ape’ jungle adventures, golf.

Bed linen, towels, bathrobes, toiletries, local hand-made soap, books, games and even a fancy-dress box.

Eco-friendly

Cliff Barns recycles all empty bottles. Organic produce from local suppliers and farmers can be arranged on request.
