In the barn itself, there’s a cathedral-like dining area, with a minstrels' gallery overlooking a long banquet table decked out with candelabra. The landscaped gardens make for ravishingly romantic wedding pictures.
Need to know
Chaucer Barn now has three rooms licensed for wedding ceremonies: one suited for parties of up to 20 guests, one fit for fifty and a larger room for up to 80. During high season (May–September), a three-night stay for 18 people and a reception for 100 people is £5,500. For parties of up to 50 guests, the rate is £4,500. The ceremony itself is an extra cost (£650) and marquee hire is not included. If you decide to opt for a mid-week wedding, day hire from 9am–7pm is £1,500 (including the ceremony). Hire the Barn for a three-day weekend and you can indulge in a bespoke wedding with total privacy. You can have an alfresco dinner in the grounds with a marquee and up to 100 people. Chaucer Barn works closely with an extensive range of suppliers, so will sort all the necessary logistics for you.
