The Guestbook
We had the most fantastic time at Whitehouse – couldn't have been better. Altogether there were eight in our party plus three dogs and we had the best Christmas ever. Many, many thanks to Tamara, Ally, Nora and all the staff for their wonderful hospitality. We shall be back.

Compliments to the chef, fantastic food. Book a table for dinner in the restaurant, you won't be disappointed. We had a really relaxing visit here at Whitehouse and didn't want to leave. A visit to Salcombe, Bantham beach and Noss Mayo is well worth the effort. Have lunch at the Ship Inn in Noss Mayo. It's a delightful traditional waterside pub with lovely coastal walks around, and a beautiful beach up to the left of the Ship Inn. Experience curry night in the Pilchard Inn at Burgh Island by reservations. Take a coastal drive from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth, you'd think you were in the South of France. You could spend the afternoon here, lots of boat trips. Enjoy.

Total chill-out location with incredible breakfasts. Recommend their farm shop and the 'Winking Prawn' for BBQ food nearby.

Whitehouse was a very cool country hotel that made you feel at home (if your home was amazingly well furnished and had a fully stocked bar). The stay here was so good, we decided to book in another night. Though this hotel is not on the beach, it's near enough to many beautiful ones, just be prepared to drive through some very narrow country roads. Sitting in the garden with a G&T was the perfect way to end an afternoon. The food at the hotel was so good that we didn't venture out for dinner much, but one night we ate at South Sands in nearby Salcombe. If you go, go for a drink on the deck which is the best thing about the place. A good restaurant in Salcombe with another amazing view was Dick And Wills, right on the bay. Relaxed atmosphere with good food.

The stroll down to the sea was beautiful – just right to burn off breakfast and make room for a cream tea!

After having fun driving round the roads of Devon, we stumbled across a lovely beach called Beesands. The beach was great – long and quiet, and with local beer and cider on tap at the Cricket Inn (+44 (0)1548 580215), it comes highly recommended. Great little seafood shack for snacks, platters and takeaway too.

While staying at Whitehouse in Devon we stumbled upon 'The Cricket Inn' at Beesands. We had a fantastic lunch - homecooked tasty food and good local ale all at reasonable prices in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit!
