The Guestbook
The Anglesea Arms gastropub (www.angleseaarms.com) is only a short walk from the Kensington Hotel – left out of the hotel, across Old Brompton Road and into Onslow Gardens – and is a busy, but less pretentious, pub than some in this area; with good food, a lively atmosphere and seating outside for warmer evenings. Good for people watching.

Staying at the Kensington Hotel was such a great idea - we actually only lived down the road but felt like a change for the evening (our room had a huge bed with a mirrored head board which was absolutely fabulous!)
In the area I would suggest Kensington Wine Rooms for dinner and the wine lovers out there - you can buy a "credit card" which you top up and then use to taste wines by the glass at your convinience from a selection in the bar, the food is also very good.
If you fancy a quiet breakfast away from the hotel Black and Blue is perfect - they are always quiet in the morning but do great food, lots of newspapers to choose from and comfy booths to slouch in, wash away the hangover with one of their bloody marys...yum!
For something unusual to do in the evening, there is an indoor virtual golf range near the High Street Ken Station, so much fun! It's like kareoke but with golf, the bar and staff are great, really nice vibe and surroundings. such a bonus that you can have a drink - by the time you get to the last hole you're all rolling about wetting yourselves laughing at the feeble attempts to hit the ball!! A must do!

Lovely hotel, great room, helpful front desk. Parking a bit of a hassle and of course pricey.

With Hyde Park being a short walk from the hotel it's hard not to stroll up to Kensington High Street, get yourself a bottle of pink champagne and some strawberries and spend the afternoon in the park enjoying the great British summer. Also for a Sunday brunch that really hits the spot try Christopher's American Bar & Grill (+44 (0)20 7240 4222) in Covent Garden.
For all the ladies; Harrods is just a short distance from the hotel and while you're squeezing the credit cards the guys can sit in Ranoush juice bar (+44 (0)20 7723 3161) and enjoy some freshly squeezed juices.
