The Bull Inn
Getting there
The Bull Inn is on the edge of Wimborne St Giles, a small village on the fringe of Shaftesbury Estate in north Dorset.
- Planes London Heathrow is a two-hour drive, but the closest international airport is Bournemouth, 12 miles away, which mainly serves Mediterranean holiday spots, courtesy of Ryanair.
- Trains Salisbury station is a 30-minute drive away, reached directly from London Waterloo in around an hour and a half.
- Automobiles Wimborne St Giles sits in a nest of B-roads between the A354 and the A31, north of Bournmouth and Poole. The M3, then M27, is the best route from London, but, for scenery and New Forest horse-spotting, take the B3078 to Fordingbridge, rather than the A31, when the M27 ends. A car is essential in these parts, and there's plenty of free parking at the Bull.
- Others There's a field nearby that's suited to helicopter landings.
