Southern Ocean Lodge
Overview
The Lodge welcomes children aged six and over only. Extra beds can be provided for kids for AU$350 a child when sharing a suite with two adults. Baby cots aren't available.
Best for
Kids aged six and over are welcome to stay in family suites for AU$350 extra a child a night.
Recommended rooms
There are two 120-square-metre Ocean Family Suites available, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sizeable outdoor terrace. Beds can be arranged either as two king-size beds, or one king and two singles. Add a rollaway bed to sleep five.
Activities
Children will love most of the Lodge's organised activities (especially surf fishing, stargazing and the trips to Seal Bay and Remarkable Rocks), but little legs mightn’t be up for some of the longer hikes.
Swimming pool
The kids might like a dunk on the terrace spa outside the restaurant, but ask them to respect other guests’ right to peace and quiet by keeping splashing around to a minimum. Alternatively, take them down to the surf at Hanson Bay!
Meals
Kids eat with the adults in the restaurant; the kitchen will endeavour to cater to any special requirements.
Babysitting
Babysitting is not available.
No need to pack
Southern Ocean Lodge is an all-inclusive experience for kids too: you won’t need to bring anything extra, except maybe a few kid-friendly DVDs to keep them entertained.
Also
The Lodge isn't suitable for children under six, so leave the little ones at home. Kids aged 11 and over will probably get the most out of staying here.
