The Guestbook
Sanderson was great and we had a Goldsmith upgrade to a lovely spacious room with a fab huge bed in the middle of it and a gym (a Wii which came with an extra TV to use it). Generally, the hotel is very stylish throughout and our stay is a happy memory for me. Staff were excellent, helpful and very polite. My friends and I also had a meal at Suka, the restaurant on the ground floor, and again, everybody loved the food and drinks. Suka is a noisy place, so you've got to know this and be happy with it. The bar next to it got really busy (hence the noise) as it was a Friday night, but it is great if you want to go from food to drinks without leaving the building on a cold, rainy or lazy night.

Barrica (www.barrica.co.uk) is a fantastic tapas bar in Goodge Street, just a walk around the corner from Sanderson. Authentic food, good wines (and sommelier advice), and a large range of sherries if that floats your boat (it did mine). I would recommend booking, especially on Saturday. Unfortunately they're closed on Sunday.

We ate in an interactive Japanese restaurant called Inamo in Wardour Street - give it a go as it's great fun and the food is fantastic. Also, if you fancy a break from a hotel breakfast, the Breakfast Club cafe is brilliant - just off Wardour Street (+44 (0)207 434 2576).

The smoky martini in the purple bar has to tried, it is possibly the best in London – teamed with a bowl of olives it is pure indulgence. For a great day out you can walk south of the hotel; cross Oxford Street and within 10 minutes you're round the back of Soho where you can eat at a very cosy Lebanese restaurant and watch the world go by through the large French doors.
