We found an impressive Thai restaurant called Narwama near Djemma el Fna. The food is good here (although not cheap) but the main reason to go is for the atmosphere – huge Thai-inspired statues, open air dining and fire erupting from a central fountain, need I say more. For a more romantic and authentic Moroccan experience, you must try Dar Zellij – it is simply beautiful: an aperitif on the roof terrace looking up at the stars, downstairs, rose petals cover your table under the very low mood lighting, traditional Moroccan musicians play live music whilst you dine on an incredible five-course meal, ornate pillars climb up to the tall ceilings – hopefully you get the picture. This is a must for any couple in Marrakech. It's not easy to find so if staying at the Riad Due, they will happily escort you there. For a chic glass of wine and civilised snack at lunch (or a lovely evening meal), pop down to Cafe Arabe. It's probably the closest restaurant to Riad Due and is very easy to find so you won't get lost (which is very easy to do in the souks). It has a roof terrace with water mist that is a much needed 'cool-down' when walking around in 40-degree heat.
