The Guestbook

I can highly recommend having a real Moroccan meal at the La Maison Arabe for a special occasion. The set menu is DHS400 and wine is between DHS300 and DHS550, however they will only charge DHS100 if you take a special bottle of your own. The reception staff are delightful and the hotel is plush.

We had a great stay at the Riad Anyssates. It is an oasis of calm, hidden away from the centre of Marrakech, with subtle decor and a refreshing plunge pool. The staff were amazing – so helpful and kind and they understood my schoolgirl French!! The second night we were there, we decided to go to a restaurant recommended and booked for us by the Riad. We were taken half way there by a member of staff, as we would never have found it otherwise! We were then met by another member of staff who took us the rest of the way! We had drinks on the roof terrace, followed by an amazing tagine on tables that were covered with rose petals, it was beautiful. The restaurant was called Dar Zellij and you would have never have found it on your own. I certainly recommend a visit!

The hotel is an oasis of calm in the heart of the bustling old town. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food magnificent, but be sure to brush up on your French before you go as nobody at the hotel speaks English!

We ate at Le Foundouk and the food was fantastic, another night we had cocktails at Nwarma (+212 (0)524 440844), both of which quite expensive. Our best experience was actually sitting on a wobbly trestle table in the Djemaa el Fna eating freshly grilled food for about a fiver.
