Getting there
- Planes Venice’s Marco Polo Airport is 16km away. The hotel’s vintage water taxi (the mahogany Celli) will come to collect you and your bags for €130; a regular taxi should cost around €100 each way, but watch out for added tax.
- Trains The Santa Lucia station is 2.5km from the hotel. From here, Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.it) trains go to Milan, Rome and Paris. The Celli can set sail to here, too (for €70).
- Automobiles Unless you want to lock them up on an artificial island or long-stay carpark, leave the cars at home. The hotel is in the centre of Venice, where waterways rule, not roads.
