Food and drink at Odette en Ville
- Hotel restaurant Simple but sophisticated modern fare is served up in Odette en Ville’s dining room, an elegant conservatory with an original light well. Diners construct their own dishes – dressings and sauces are served on the side. Typical plates include soft-boiled eggs with seasonal mushrooms and truffles, lobster spaghetti, and macaroons with crème brûlée and baked apple.
- Dress code Wear black and you’ll blend into the background – opt for a crisp white shirt or snowy cocktail dress.
- Top table Sit in the corner and spy on the chefs through the darkened glass window that separates the kitchen and dining area.
- Last orders Breakfast is served between 7am and 10.30am during the week (8am–10.30am on weekends); lunch is dished up between noon and 2.30pm; dinner is 7.30pm until 11pm.
- Room service The 24-hour room service includes club sandwiches, Ibérico ham, French fries and the ilk.
- Hotel bar Lounge in the bar’s low-slung chairs, admiring the gallery’s worth of black and white photos and the black lacquer flooring. Mirrored coffee tables and low-hanging lights create an atmospheric setting for a tipple or two.

Bathing belles should opt for Room 6 or 7, which both have a tub fit for two as a central feature. If space is a deciding factor, opt for Room 3, the biggest boudoir, which has a queen-size bed, bay window and fireplace.
Packing tips
Don’t weigh down your case with books – the hotel has a stash of tomes on art and photography on sale to guests. Brussels rivals Britain in terms of raindrop quota, so bring some chic waterproofs.
