The Guestbook
You have to go to Maison Arabe, in the Medina-the setting is fabulous and the waiters really good fun, we could have spent a whole day here instead of just dinner. They have some wonderful interior 'objets' by one of their top designers Yahya (hails from England though)they are jaw droppingly fabulous. Whilst out and about in the souks try a very calming lunch/drink/coffee & relax at Cafe Arabe on the roof terrace, an absolute oasis in the middle of the mayhem that is around.
Another tip is to get some clothes made, I paid 300 dirhams (about £23) for a made to measure decorated linen shirt at one of the many tailors that operate out of tiny shops in the Bar Doukkala area.
Whilst out & about & in need of a taxi, don't ask for them to set the meter, or agree a price - if you're in the cab for anything up to 3 miles, when you arrive at your destination, all get out the cab, give the driver 20 dirhams & walk away - it's twice as much as they would get from a local.
Lastly be wary of anyone coming up to you claiming to work in your hotel, they don't!!

We had some amazing recommendations from Damien, the front of house, and ate like kings in marrakech!
We loved La Maison Arabe, whose food was probably the best we tried on our whole trip. Dar Marjane was also fabulous and made a massive fuss of us as honeymooners! We loved theire special touch, and the moroccan feast they provided was fantastic, as was the live musical entertainment and bellydancing! Our most disapointing experience was at BoZin restaurant, which distinctly lacked the charm and character of the other restaurants, food not so impressive and staff offhand and disinterested. However, that may have just have been our take on things. Overall, top marks, Moroccan food has truly made a lsting impression on us and we'll be back!

Riad Noir D'Ivoire is 100% faultless, both Jill and Damien are so warm, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was ever too much.
Damien recommended an amazing restaurant called Narwama at 30 Hay Zefritit, Rue Koutoubia close to Djemaa el Fna square but, is not a place you would stumble across. Great atmosphere and Fantastic food, well worth a visit.
On the flip side you must at least one evening visit the Djemaa el Fna square, enjoy the buzzing atmosphere and eat at one of the many outside stalls and what makes this even better is how cheap it was!

The Majorelle Garden is the perfect place to visit for some shade, greenery and tranquillity. Have a fruit drink in the cafe and chill.

This hotel was amazing and Jill, the wonderful woman at helm there, is very warm and knowledgeable about the area and the best places to go. Make sure to leave extra room in your bag as there are some wonderful Moroccan things to buy such as spices and home decor. For a sophisticated dinner head to Bo & Zin about 10 min out of town and quite a cool scene. Enjoy Marrakech!

Would highly recommend eating/drinking/people-watching at Bo-zin – great fusion food and lots of atmosphere with DJ and lots of beautiful people.

If out and about in the souks and you need a reliable and scenic refreshment stop, check out Cafe Arabe. Sitting up on the rooftop is a must – don't let them seat you anywhere else – the view across rooftops to the mountains is fantastic on a clear day.
