Cosy and delicious restaurant two streets away called Cinq Mars. Very romantic, with heaps of candles and fairy lights for a very flattering lighting effect. Must try the chocolate mousse but only order one between you – it's huge.

A superb, elegant hotel in a great area of Paris. The Deluxe rooms are well worth the extra with balconies overlooking the street and Paris rooftops. The great staff, service and brilliant concierge are all good reasons to stay but the fact the hotel is next door to the Joel Rubuchon restaurant makes the Montalambert one of the best places to stay in Paris.

Joel Roubochon L'Atelier is next door. The concierge secured us a booking for that evening (Saturday night). Fantastic food and concept, well worth the visit, and you don't need a taxi home!

It was fine, room was nice, service was fine, although they messed up our breakfast order on the last day. I'd only order the breakfast if it comes included, otherwise it's not worth the high price tag for what you get. The beds are rather small and quite hard. The bathroom is lovely, products lovely. Towels not the best, a bit rough and worn. Location is fantastic.

Boutique and friendly hotel in a great area of Paris. We took the concierge's recommendation for a casual meal on Saturday evening - he sent us to a local bistro not more than 10 minutes walk, and we were not disappointed! The room was spacious (for Paris) and service very friendly. Recommend for a short weekend stay!

This was our second stay at Montalembert after a rather poor effort on the part of management during our first stay in 2009. Thankfully, this stay was really good and Montalembert is back on our recommended list. No great new discoveries except to say that we have dined at Aux Lyonnais (www.auxlyonnais.com) at the 1st arr. several times over the years and it never fails to disappoint both on quality and value. Fabulous fixed price menu with plenty of choice – mainly traditional favourites. Bookings are pretty much essential as it is small and popular: throngs of mainly American tourists earlier in the evening with locals arriving for the "later" sittings.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the Montalembert. The rooms are nice, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is almost perfect for your trip to Paris. Within a few minutes you're at the Louvre and the Rue de Rivoli, and in the evening there are a vast choice of restaurants around St. Germain des Pres. In August though it is very quiet in the area, with many shops and bars/restaurants closed.
