Also at Shore Club, Robert DeNiro’s gently rustic Ago (www.agorestaurant.com) serves up accomplished Italian dishes from chef Agostini Sciandri. Prime Italian (+1 305 695 8484) on Ocean Drive is the pasta-toting kid brother of the Miami steakhouse institution Prime One Twelve (www.prime112.com) nearby – and both are worthy of a reservation. Osteria del Teatro (+1 305 538 7850) on Washington Avenue may look unassuming, but has a wonderful way with Italian dishes. Try Joe's Stone Crab (+1 305 673 0365) on the same street for quality crustacea.
Local bars
The elite and exclusive Florida Room (+1 305 673 1010) at Delano is a classic SoBe piano lounge, adorned with a smoky bronze ceiling and dominating chandeliers. Star pianists regularly grace the keys, and international DJs hit the decks.
Worth getting out of bed for
As well as its own boat launch, allowing guests to come and go via water, Mondrian Miami can also supply jet skis, boats and other watersports equipment so you can make the most of the Bay. Although the hotel’s not on the beach itself, you’ll get passes to sister-hotel Delano’s beach club so you can sun-kiss yourself silly on the sand. The South Beach Strip is close by too, so you can strike out for the shops to seek out your perfect Miami wardrobe.
