The hotel is fantastic with an amazing pool and 1-Michelin-Star restaurant on the 24th floor. Be sure to book your table early, as there were no spaces available for the duration of our stay. There is also an amazing Italian restaurant called Taglioni's on Carre Pere IV, which is well worth a visit.

This hotel is fabulous: modern, comfortable and fantastic service. Views over the city are amazing and it's not essential to have a sea view – if anything, the mountain and city views are better. The hotel has a Michelin-star restaurant, Los Dos Cielos, and it's worth booking a table (there's only seating for 20 or so – you could be easily disappointed). Go for the tasting menu with wines, to appreciate the full gastronomic spectrum. Excellent.

The 24th floor restaurant "Dos Cielos" (Two darlings) of ME hotel is the obvious choice for a fantastic dining experience. On a recent trip to BCN, we booked a table for lunch at the restaurant (book well in advance of your trip, they are sometimes up to three weeks completely booked up) on a Saturday. Because I had tried to book previously, my name was in the system, so the guy who took my reservation indicated he would put us at the Chef's table! What a great thing indeed... Upon arrival we were directed towards a worktop covered with a table cloth, right on the edge of the kitchen, clearly separated from the dining room and the other diners. The Chef (one of the famous Torres brothers) greeted us personally, and said that instead of choosing our dishes on the menu, he could just bring us a selection of his own choice, and we also chose the wine tasting menu to go along with it.
What a fabulous dining experience! The Chef was cooking each dish and bringing it to us himself, then explain to me what was in the dish, the flavours, the ingredients, mind blowing!
It did not come cheap, but this came as a fabulous discovery for us. Well worth it!

This hotel and our stay was fantastic. Make sure you take a walk down to the beach along Rambla del Poble Nou (left out of the hotel and a couple of blocks down). Walk down and enjoy the various tapas bars and stop at El Tio Che, for a fab ice cream (+34 933 091 872). It's both relaxing and trendy, and off some of the sidestreets are some great industrial architectural buildings. It's a great place for a walk or a drink before you start the evening's entertainment!!
