The Guestbook
Make sure that you visit one of the local markets during your stay. The hotel provides a list of when/where the markets are taking place in the surrounding area. There is at least one market happening each day of the week, providing a fun way to get to grips with the locality. At the market, a particular speciality of the region are products made from olives, everything from the oil to the tapenade (not forgetting the olives themselves) are good. The Les Baux Provence AOC label indicates those products which are made in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. As to food, we ate at both the L'Oustau (**) and the Cabro D'Or (*). Both were good. The former is very grand, set in a beautful stone-vaulted room. However, we actually preferred our meal at the Cabro D'Or which is slightly more modern and inventive. It features a menu which takes its inspiration from the local olive oil which was delightful.

This hotel was fantastic. We loved the setting.. the area is jaw droppingly beautiful. Don't miss the incredible Van Gogh audiovisual exhibition nearby.. the artwork is projected into the walls of a nearby quarry.. fantastic.
We had a great meal at a one star Michelin restaurant nearby Saint Remy, called La Maison Jaune, 15, Rue Carnot, Saint Remy De Provence. This meal was fantastic.. in some ways better than the much more expensive meal we had at L'Ostau.
