The Guestbook

So, turn left out of the hotel's front door and make sure you stop at Popeye's Fish & Chip Shop where you can either eat in or, if it's a nice evening, grab a bottle of wine, walk across the car park and sit and watch the sunset with locally caught fish and great chips.

If you fancy somehing more sophisticated, Seabreeze restaurant is great. Not been open long but a simple yet comprehensive menu of local produce, lots of fish obviously but some really nice local lamb. Do try the scallops, absolutely divine, melt in the delicious (something to do with them not being dredged so very little sand in them!) Ian and Linda are great hosts too.

Your final stop has to be the Y Bwtri deli on the seafront. They'll either wrap you up a fantastic picnic of wonderful fish and bread or you can have a coffee in the window and watch the world go by. Don't forget to have some lovely local cheese.

Two recommendations for excellent food and wine would be the Penhelig Arms (a short walk from the Llety Bodford). It's a smart pub with a pretty formal restaurant as well as bar food. Essential to book in advance for Friday and Saturday nights I'd say. The other notable eaterie is the oddly named Pharaoh's Cellar Bistro which is even closer to the Llety Bodfor. The hotel is very happy to make a booking for you in to either of these restaurants. The Bistro is fantastic, run by a truly marvellous hostess who really knows her onions and is very willing to spend time with you explaining the various tapas on offer etc. It is an incredibly popular place so do make sure you book in advance for this one too.

Lovely setting, amazing views, lovely warm welcome, fantastic bed generous rooms & tasty breakfasts all just made 1000 x better by exceptional weather.

Down side. Not enough places to eat within walking distance, and those available you have to be quick and book!

Llety Bodfor truly is a beautiful place to stay, the views each morning of the beach and sea were breathtaking (not the usual words for Britain I know.) We traveled with a nine-month-old and our friends have a 18-month-old. They were so accommodating with the babies that it made our stay a very relaxing break. Most people including the staff recommended the Penhelig Arms, which did serve good food, but when you stay at Llety Bodfor, you kind of want somewhere with equal decor standards. Try further afield for a more special eatery.
