The Guestbook
If you´re hungry for something different, or just want to taste something to match the contemporary feel of this hotel, go for a walk or take the métro to Le Pré Verre (+33 (0)1 43 54 59 47) at 8 Rue Thénard. The website is quite quirky, but the food is surprising and delicious, not safely conventional or classical French.

Les Ombres has to be the most romantic restaurant I have ever been to, it is so different to the many contrived 'romantic restaurants' in Paris and instead of feeling slightly queasy you will leave feeling completely inspired, if very full, with some of the best food in the city. For the best views of the Eiffel Tower and unparalleled intimacy the best table is in one of the corners right opposite the Eiffel Tower.

Le Placide does not have a restaurant, but cafés abound nearby. Boucherie Roulière (24 rue des Canettes; +33 1 43 26 25 70) is only a short walk away and has to serve the best steaks anywhere in the world. Fast and pleasant service mixed with reasonable prices in a bohemian part of Paris make this a wonderful experience.
