The Guestbook
La Maison is a beautiful boutique guest house hidden on a quiet street in an upper-class neighbourhood of Rio. Jacques, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful in terms of local knowledge and recommendations for both restaurants and guides. I would highly recommend local restaurant Guimas, and for fine dining in nearby Ipanema, try Zuka. The tasting menu is amazing. Jacques organised a city tour with a fantastic guide Augusto, a favela tour with Peanut, who knew absolutely everyone, which made it an unusual and brilliant day, and a car to take us to the football stadium to watch a match. We had a fantastic time and I would definitely encourage anyone to stay here for the beautiful view, gorgeous house, delicious breakfasts and friendly staff.

Loved la Maison. Exactly as good as described in the review. Our discovery was the wonderful Modernist villa and art foundation Salles a short walk away. Great photography and other exhibitions.
