The Guestbook
What can I say? Thierry Guy made us feel very welcome and was able to give great touring tips like 'take the bus into Nice': one hour meandering down the mountain for 1 euro. Every restaurant was a taste sensation, namely La Farigoule, La Litote and La Cassolette. The suite of rooms was exceptional and our view out to the mountains was beautiful: the bed is big and comfy, the furnishings the same and lots of arty coffe table books to look at. Only downside: the number of stairs with a suitcase, and we were close to the main drag so car noise was present between 5–7pm then started again at 7am. Fantastic location for exploring the town of Vence itself and don't miss a visit to St Paul. Parking tip: with a GPS, aim for the underground town parking station in Place du Grand Jardin, a two minutes' walk and cheap safe overnight parking. Don't rely on the GPS as it will take you up some hair-raising mediaeval streets – stressful.

We had a great stay at this hotel. We were pointed in the direction of Saint Paul de Vence by the owner. He recommended we take the bus, but we decided to drive. The parking wasn't too expensive and we had no problem finding a space in the underground car park on the left as you approach the village. We spent a lovely morning wandering around the beautiful little streets and enjoyed popping into some of the interesting shops. There were plenty of different places to choose from for lunch.
