Overview
Welcome. Huka Lodge can provide free baby cots, or extra beds for older children in triple rooms (charged a person, a night). Babysitting with a local nanny can be arranged given 24 hours' notice, for NZ$20 per hour (including tax).
Best for
Any age, although Huka Lodge's dramatic riverside grounds might be a little hair-raising with young children.
Recommended rooms
The Lodge Rooms, some of which interconnect, are ideal for families with young children. The hotel can supply free baby cots, or extra beds for older children in triple rooms, from NZ$635–NZ$1,115 a person a night.
Activities
Within the grounds kids can enjoy the swimming pool and spa pool, tennis, petanque, croquet or mountain biking.
Meals
Kids are allowed in Huka Lodge's restaurant at breakfast or lunchtime only. The lodge offers a children's menu and can supply high chairs, packed lunches or heat up baby food and milk.
Babysitting
The lodge can arrange babysitting with a local nanny given 24 hours' notice for NZ$20 an hour, including tax at 12.5 per cent.
No need to pack
Baby cots or car seats. The lodge can also order in any diapers, toiletres, baby foods or other supplies required for infants.
Also
Cots and car seats are available for free, but need to be booked on reservation. There will be a charge for any other child-friendly supplies ordered in specially.
