Getting there
- Planes The nearest airport is Palma de Mallorca (or Son Sant Joan), 8km from Hotel Tres. The hotel can arrange a private transfer service for €55 each way; otherwise, you can hire a car, or pick up a taxi just outside the airport.
- Trains Practically speaking, it’s easiest to travel by road here, but for stunning mountain views, take a day trip on the antique steam train to Sóller. The journey takes around an hour, and a return ticket will set you back €11 or so.
- Automobiles Hotel Tres is in the very centre of Palma, so walking is by far the best way to explore the local area, but a car will be useful if you plan to venture further and seek out the best beaches along the coast. There are car hire desks at Palma Airport. As for parking, there’s none available at the hotel itself, but you can park for a daily rate nearby at Plaza Reina. It’s a good idea to drop off luggage at the hotel first.
- Others A ferry runs between Barcelona and Palma, which takes around seven hours.
