Mr & Mrs Smith

Great hotel. Enjoyed the Mr & Mrs Smith extra (a free bottle of wine). Had dinner at the Witchery around the corner which is also excellent. Good weekend. Thank you, Mr & Mrs Smith travel team.

I have just returned from this hotel and can't rate it highly enough. The service was impeccable, from booking restaurants and tours to offering umbrellas as we left the hotel – nothing was too much for any of the staff. We genuinely felt like they were interested and wanted to 'spoil' us. In fact, on one of the days when we returned from a shopping trip we were asked if we wanted our bags and coats taken to our room while we had a cup of coffee.  On protesting that this would be lazy we were told 'you are in a five-star hotel and we are here to spoil you;  let yourselves be spoiled'. A couple of restaurant suggestions would be Angels with Bagpipes and the 4th Floor restaurant at Harvey Nichols.  Angels with Bagpipes is literally a two-minute stroll from the hotel and the food was what dreams are made of. Harvey Nichols has a gorgeous view of Edinburgh and the food was extremely creative yet still spectacular. In regards to restaurants though, make sure you book early otherwise you will not get tables in some places. We were shocked to find that even in Pizza Express you had to book.  Hotel Missoni was everything we wanted it to be and more – I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it highly to anyone planning a trip to Edinburgh.

Within a five-minute walk from the hotel on the Royal Mile is a restaurant/bar called Angels with Bagpipes. We went in for a drink on the way back from one of the underground tours and ended up booking for that evening. The food was superb and the service attentive but not obtrusive. The atmosphere and ambience was great, even though it was a cold Tuesday evening. If we had been staying in Edinburgh for longer we would have definitely returned.

Brilliant hotel with the friendliest staff. Good location just off the Royal Mile and a short walk from the train station. Would definitely go back.

Edinburgh is my old stomping ground, but for Mr Smith this was his first visit and we couldn't have picked a better hotel than the Missoni to ease him in. Even rocking up in a yellow transit van (Mr Smith is a mechanic) did not faze the staff, who dutifully whisked it away to the private parking area underneath the hotel. The check-in staff were über helpful and secured us a table in the restaurant the following night, despite it being chock-a-block, for my birthday treat. Up the jazzy carpeted corridor (this is Missoni, it's going to be jazzy) and into our bijou room, which was small but perfectly formed, with the biggest bed we have ever seen and an ingenious use of space. After a perfect night's sleep, we ventured out to see what Edinburgh had to offer, doing the touristy thing for him and the shopping thing for me. Well, this stay was my birthday present. The meal in the restaurant was gorgeous, as was the breakfast the following morning, complete with Italian tasties all round, the food, not the waiters. We left the next day full, happy and already planning our next stay. See you soon Hotel Missoni.

It was my second stay at the hotel and it was excellent. The rooms are small, but very comfortable, and with everything you could possibly want, including the now obligatory Nespresso machine. We got two unrequested wakeup calls on Sunday morning at 6am and then 7am. On checkout I complained to the duty manager, who took both days’ breakfasts off the bill and treated us to our taxi to the airport, so very impressive customer service.
