The Guestbook

This hotel has a great location. The best shopping streets in Le Marais are Rue des Francs Bourgeois, just off Place des Vosges, Rue Vieille du Temple, Rue du Poitou and Rue de Saintonge. Don't forget the credit card. Eats near the hotel: brunch/lunch at The Rose Bakery, 30 Rue Debelleyme, for amazing salads, tarts and cakes. They do a burger too for those not big on green stuff. L'As du Falafel: famous falafel stall, prepare to queue. Dinner: L'Enoteca, a little Italian on Rue Charles V, walk-able from Hôtel Duo and lovely food.

If you enjoy the modern lines of Hotel Duo but are wondering where to dine, try eschewing the usual cosy bistro for the ultra-modern Georges Restaurant in the Centre Pompidou. Just a short walk from the hotel, this top-floor restaurant is both minimalist(lots of white and metal finishes) and striking - not least because of the amazing views over Paris. French-Asian fusion food, such as Duck with Caramel and Coconut, make a change from escargots - great for a night of modern romance, with a twist. Make sure you book first.

There is a horse and carriage tour that sets off from the east corner of the Eiffel Tower; it is a wonderfully romantic way to see Paris, especially as I took the opportunity to propose!

We’re now scouring the Mr & Mrs Smith website for that perfect honeymoon location!!

There is a great outdoor bar in the grounds of the Louvre, overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Beautiful grounds, excellent views and fab cocktails. Just walk under the arches towards the Louve main building and turn right before the glass pyramid.

Make sure you try the fantastic coastal walk from the nesreest beach-cala mesquida-you can walk fo 30 minutes- or 4 hours-up to you-ask at reception for the details- it really is spectacular and the views are breathtaking
ala Torta is also wonderful-wild and rugged beach with no cafes- just beautiful cliffs and aquamarine sea- need a car to get there-20 min drive frm the hotel as you head towards Arta it is signposted to the right off the main road-again-ask at hotel reception for directions
Best wishes

Just off the rue de Rivoli and therefore near the Seine, île de la Cité and Notre Dame, Hôtel Duo is a chic little hotel, all lemons and browns, with a neat bar and breakfast area. The rooms are by no means large but it is definately a touch of class compared with the plethora of two- and three-star hotels in this city. On the edge of the Marais district, this serves anyone wanting to be in Paris's gay district but also near to many sights and sounds. The nearest metro station is Hôtel de Ville, just round the corner which serves lines 1 and 11, so great for the Bastille, Opera, the Louvre, Champs Elysées, etc.

I can fully recommended a fantastic restaurant just off Boulevard Saint-Germain, on St Benoit called Le Petit Zinc. Delicious seafood selection and foie gras to die for. The service was also very good, and the staff saved me the embarrassment of my broken French and spoke very good English!
