The Guestbook

So Parisian, close to the Champs Elysee. This was my second visit and it was just as memorable as the first. Walking distance to everthing, go for a stroll down Rue Saint-Honoré and drop into the super groovy Hotel Costes for a drink or meal.

We have just returned from a four-night honeymoon in Hotel Daniel and it was fantastic. The hotel is delightful, tucked away on a quiet street. The hotel design and interiors are gorgeous – very relaxing, romantic and intimate. The hotel staff were great: exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hotel Daniel. We tried several restaurants, two we liked in particular were V39 on George the V not far from the hotel – it's quite new and is a rooftop restaurant, so you could walk past the entrance easily. The service was really good and the food was delicious, especially the lemon cake dessert. Quite expensive – three courses (€320 for two) but hey, it's Paris. Remember that it's only open Monday–Friday. The other restaurant we really enjoyed (the food was really fabulous) was The Kitchen Gallery over on the left bank – very busy vibrant place, more casual and not so expensive at €220 for two three-course dinners. Would definately need to book as it's really busy.

Aside from the amazing Hotel Daniel, we were recommended a Chinese restaurant called Diep, on the other side of the Champs Elysees. It is expensive (about £80 for two) but the food was amazing: really fresh and cooked perfectly. I'd recommend anyone to go there if you've got time!

What a fantastic Hotel , the position was perfect.
We loved our upgrade , to a loft Suite, due to our arrival time of 4.30pm we were starving ( even tho it was 35degree's ) The porter suggested a restaurant. The Golden View, which was right on the river, and became our favorite dinner place. The Hotel's Restaurant was amazing , just like the hotel and staff.

Apart from the beautiful rooms, helpful staff and great location one of the best parts of this hotel is the breakfast - so make sure you get it included in your package. A beautiful pastry basket with real French butter, almost too rich hot chocolates and hot food made fresh to order - you won't need lunch.

So what to do in Paris on a Sunday? If you are tired of following the tourist trail, and sick of handbag pooches nipping your ankles in Saint Germain, there is no better way to spend a Sunday in Paris than browsing the Marais – most of the cute boutiques are open, whilst the rest of the city is decidely fermé. Rue des Rosiers in the heart of the 4eme is lined with fabulous kosher restaurants, most with windows to order falafel, or shawarmas. Not the most chic of lunches, but delicious and a refreshing change from the usual Paris. Not to be missed: the Marais has amazing independent boutiques, and some of the best opticians in the world.. Anne et Valentin, Marc le Bihan (both on Rue Sainte Croix de la Bretonnerie). On Rue Boissy d'Anglas (metro Madeleine), l'Envue is a fantastic restaurant and very fashionable bar. Just one mile from Hôtel Daniel, it is a short taxi ride, or a pleasant walk along Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré.
