Tuck in to top-class Italian cuisine (strongly influenced by Tuscan and Venetian flavours) at Cuore Ristorante & Bar. The menu is updated every month by chef Fausto Chiapello, who previously headed the kitchen at L'Enoteca in Paris.
- Dress code Cashmere and denim by day; ties and taffeta by night.
- Top table Sit in the ‘aquarium’ area for its courtyard views and sense of privacy. (Expect to eat amid suits, especially at lunchtime, when the restaurant is popular with the business crowd.)
- Last orders The last dish hits the plate around 10.00pm; tipples are served as long as you’re thirsty.
- Room service Freshly made salads and sandwiches can be ordered between 6pm and 11pm. The full restaurant menu is available during opening hours.

Sit in the slate-grey Grand Salon, scented with fresh-cut white lilies, and order a local white wine or some champagne cocktails. Jazz cats can tune into the soft soundtrack, and there’s a stash of books to flick through.

We’d book Room 310 for its terrace alone, which surveys Luxembourg’s grey and brown rooftops and spires. Alternatively, stake out the apartment-style Penthouse, which has floor-to-ceiling windows, glass walls and a spacious bedroom.
