Spy scribe Ian Fleming penned every Bond yarn in his Jamaican villa, Goldeneye, which is now at the heart of this luxurious cluster of 20 cottages and suites surrounding a four-acre lagoon. If every day you woke up to a stunning Caribbean landscape of talc-soft sand, breeze-blown palms and cerulean sea, you’d probably want to write home about it, too.

Fleming may be gone, but he’s sure left his mark – Goldeneye is now a playground of hidden coves, private beaches and dense tropical forests, all perfect for a spy’s covert activities. Despite the idyllic location, each breezy room is kitted out with futuristic wireless stereos to play owner Chris Blackwell’s incomparable selection of music, mostly culled from his legendary label, Island Records.
